The AFA Group has been active in the extraction and commercialisation of sea sand since 1991, through significant and/or majority holdings in the capital of various companies operating in this sector in Madeira, more precisely Solinertes – Extração de Inertes Lda, Navinerte – Extração e Comercialização de Inertes, Lda and Arinerte – Sociedade de Exploração e Comercialização de Inertes, Lda.

The three companies of the AFA Group are responsible for around 65% of total annual sales in Madeira, registering, in 2021, the sale of around 78,000 m3 of aggregates.

The fleet is made up of various heavy equipment, namely three gyratories and a loading shovel; two vessels with extraction capacity of around 2,100 m3 and 600 m3 respectively, and with loading and unloading by suction in one of the dredgers; a trailer and a pontoon.
