The works included the construction of a waste processing plant/ecocentre, associated to which is a transfer station, an organic recovery composting plant and a leachate water treatment Facility. Located on São Jorge island, the facility is integrated into an area with various supporting infrastructures, namely administrative building, odour treatment system, office, water supply reservoirs and power transformer station.
